It is less than a month before we head off on our big trip for 2014, we are getting excited and a little bit stressed!. Here are our plans for our 4 month adventure, Alex and I would love to hear thoughts about what we should do in certain cities.
On April 13th 2014 Alex and I leave Adelaide for Los Angeles, the beginning of our trip gives us a few days to see the sights of LA with a friend of mine from High School, Olivia and Alex’s Cousin, Joe. We then drive to Coachella Valley for the infamous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, plus the lineup is amazing!
From LAX we catch a flight to Santiago, Chile and start our tour through Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador with Tucan Travel. The whole tour lasts for 62 days and includes Machu Picchu and the Amazon Jungle! Here’s a map of everywhere we will be going to.
Our trip ends in Quito, Ecuador where we head off for the beautiful Galapagos
Islands. Here you can see the islands we will visit on our boat! I’m so excited about seeing some of the wonderful wildlife and scenery!
From there we catch a flight up to Cancun and hire a car and drive to Playa del Carmen which will be our home for a few days before we start travelling through Mexico by bus and make our way to Mexico City. Our plan is to visit Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, Chichen Itza, Merida, Campeche, San Cristobal De La Casas, Oaxaca, Puebla and Mexico City.
After that huge trip we will head back to LA where we will meet Ness’ parents and spend a couple of days in LA before driving up to Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sacramento, San Francisco then we will catch the amtrak train to Portland then another train to Seattle. From Seattle Vanessa’s parents are doing a 7 night cruise through Alaska and we will be flying to Nashville to visit a family friend and hopefully visit the Great Smokey Mountains.
If you have been to any of these places and have suggestions as what we should see/do/not do just leave me a comment 🙂
